Your April 2019 digital marketing news roundup

The Latest Digital Marketing News

With April coming to an end, it’s time to get caught up on this month’s digital marketing changes and updates.

This month has seen changes ranging from Facebook addressing brand safety updates to new interactivity options for LinkedIn users. Here is the digital marketing news for April 2019:

Facebook is introducing its Inventory Filter

As a business, brand reputation is everything. And part of this reputation involves being associated with professional and sensible content online.

Facebook’s new Inventory Filter gives business owners and advertisers the ability to choose filters that show their ads in web placements based on different levels of sensitive content.

What do we mean by sensitive content? Sensitive content can be any content involving strong or explicit language. As a professional business, this is something to be mindful of when it comes to your advertisements.

So, what do these inventory levels involve?

  • Limited inventory gives advertisers total protection from sensitive content
  • Standard inventory allows for a moderate level of protection in placing ads
  • Full inventory leaves limited protection of ad placement on sensitive content

This is just another step in having more control of your business’s online presence.

Google's adding a new security key for your account

With the endless amount of security and hacking issues in the online world, it's necessary to understand just how your business can combat these problems.

Google has taken a step toward helping you do this with their new security key option through your mobile device.

This key is available on any Android 7.0+ mobile phone. It requires that the user have a Bluetooth-enabled Chrome OS, macOS X or Windows 10 computer with a Chrome browser to work with it. It only takes a few simple steps to activate this security option.

Having this security key will protect both your business’s Google account and Google Cloud accounts directly from your phone.

LinkedIn wants you to react and interact more

Social media engagement has proven to be essential in a business’s success, and LinkedIn has just made this easier for your business with its new reaction option.

Long gone are the days of simply liking a post on LinkedIn! Now the platform offers options to let someone know more about your feelings toward their post.

This feature gives users the options of putting a like, celebrate, love, insightful or curious reaction on a post.

The reaction feature also gives you a better understanding of how people are engaging with your business’s posts.

But this isn’t the only change that LinkedIn is rolling out.

They also have added new features in the messenger portion of the platform’s app.

These features include the option to send calendar availability and your location to the person you are messaging to easily schedule the perfect time and location for meetings.
